On December 17, 2010, Mohamed Bouazizi, a Tunisian street vendor, immolated himself in protest against mistreatment by local authorities. His sacrifice led to the fall of the Tunisian government a month later, and triggered a popular movement known as the Arab Spring, which spread across the Muslim world, toppling six governments and sparking three civil wars. The Western world grappled with how to influence these disparate struggles for good, while jihadists and other reactionary elements skilfully maneuvered to fill the power vacuums created.
Labyrinth: The Awakening 2010- ? 2nd Printing expands on Labyrinth: The War On Terror, 2001- ? a card-based board game for 1-2 players that strategically simulates the ongoing attempt by Islamic extremists to impose their model of religious government on the Muslim world. The expansion continues where Labyrinth left off, adding new rules and cards to cover the last five years of the story. New mechanisms are included to simulate the basic political movements of the Arab Spring and the civil wars that ensued.
Labyrinth: The Awakening 2010-? 2nd Printing features 90 new event cards, additional markers, cubes and cylinders, plus 7 new scenarios, 2 of which can be played to conclusion in 7 turns or less.
