The Versus Mode expansion for Batman: Gotham City Chronicles introduces a new competitive mode where two players face off in skirmishes. Each player controls either the heroes or the villains from the Batman universe in highly strategic missions. This mode is designed to transform the normally cooperative game into a direct confrontation while maintaining the strategic mechanics of the base game system.
 This mode offers a new way to play, with customized teams and varied scenarios. This expansion adds depth and variety to an already rich game, allowing fans of the Batman universe to experience epic battles while testing their tactical skills against friends.

Each player uses a command post similar to that of the adventure mode, but with adjustments to allow for the simultaneous management of heroes and villains.

The activation and energy management system remains central to managing one’s side while keeping a strategic overview to avoid depleting all resources.

After reviewing the specifics of the mission, each player must select their main Hero, who will become their HQ and provide a specific power for the game. Players then complete their team from all the tiles of their faction. Each tile has its specifics, and the choice must be wise to meet the mission's requirements. Players must create synergy among their figures to achieve the specified objectives.

This expansion offers significant replayability due to the team composition and the 8 different missions in this mode.
