Essen Game Fair

October 14 to 17

The famous Essen Game Fair, which brings together hundreds of publishers and thousands of enthusiasts from all over the world every year, will take place this year from October 14 to 17.
The fair will be held in the usual premises in Essen.

It's the perfect opportunity to discover the next hits, the publishers' new releases and of course, to eat Currywurst and paprika potatoes. But you already knew that.

And the winners are...

The Deutscher Spiele Preis has been awarded every year since 1990 at the Essen Game Fair. Voters from the press, specialist stores, gaming associations and gamers themselves are asked to choose the games that have thrilled them the most during the year! The prize rewards the best family/adult game and the best game for children.

For the year 2021, the winners of this prestigious award are The Lost Ruins of Arnak and Dodo!

The Lost Ruins of Arnak is an expert game but still accessible to less experienced players. Created by Elwen & Min and published by Czech Games Editions, it combines several mechanics including deck building, worker placement, resource management and exploration. Players explore the ruins of a lost island in search of artifacts, equip themselves and face formidable guardians to unravel the mysteries of the island...

Dodo is a game by Frank Bebenroth and Marco Teubner for children aged 6 and up. In this cooperative game of dexterity, players must collect the materials needed to build bridges to steer the Dodo's egg from the top of the mountain to the beach, without it breaking!
