Deliver your goods without exhausting your horses!

In Die Trödler aus den Highlands, players use their carts to transport goods across mountains and villages. Each player starts his cart in a different village, with a route card, a goods request card and a special food card in hand. Goods are placed randomly in the other villages. At the start of a round, the dealer creates stacks of four face-up cards, one more than the number of players, then players draw the stacks in order.

During a turn, you play as many cards from your hand as you wish. You play a route card to move your cart along the corresponding path (mountain, bridge, etc.), then pick up any goods from that village. If you play an additional commodity card, you can take a second commodity.

If a village has no goods, you can play a goods request card and the corresponding goods from your reserve - placing these goods in the village - then placing the card face-down in a personal “value” pile. You can even do this in a village you've just emptied - that's how persuasive you are!

Each time you play a special supply card, you can take the route of your choice, pick up an additional commodity or fill a commodity request card with a non-matching commodity. All special supply cards played are placed in the value pile.

When a player has filled a certain number of supply cards, the game ends. Players then compare the number of special food cards they have used with the number of goods they have left. The player with the most has used up his horses and wagon and cannot win. Of the remaining players, the one with the most points from completed goods cards and remaining goods wins!
