Kelp is an asymmetrical game for two players, immersing them in the natural world of pyjama sharks and common octopuses, in a South African seaweed forest.
Embodying these iconic aquatic creatures, players will discover that the gameplay mechanics are very similar to those of real life. Each offers a unique path to victory.
The octopus, known for its cunning and adaptability, sneaks onto the board by playing cards and controlling blocks to hide, simulating this creature's remarkable ability to camouflage and deceive.
The shark, embodying the ruthless and determined predator, patrols his territory and attempts to track down the elusive octopus by rolling dice and using special abilities to limit his luck, thus highlighting the creature's natural instincts and carnivorous behavior.
The game is a clever blend of deck-building and bag-building, as well as hide-and-seek, bluffing and manipulation.
Kelp - Deluxe Edition includes enhanced components, including improved dice, an octopus figurine, a shiny metal coin, beautifully embroidered bags and a deluxe box. Includes all stretch goals unlocked during the Kickstarter campaign.
