American forces landed on the beach. Units not submerged during the approach attempt to move up the beach towards the German-occupied cliffs, eliminating obstacles as they go.
Some units (tanks, snipers, bazookas) executed long-range fire on fortified German units. Observers guide naval artillery support fire
The player's assault force faces German defensive fire (controlled by the system) from machine guns and anti-tank strongpoints, panzerfaust and rifle fire, and off-map German artillery. When the cliffs are reached, the American units must assault the German-occupied trenches.
The tension in
Dog Sector is palpable when your men are pinned down or hit by heavy fire. You'll grit your teeth when a team of combat engineers deploys torpedoes in Bangalore to clear obstacles under fire, and gloat when a German unit is eliminated by a tank or by your artillery.
How many German trench sections will your men be able to clear over the course of twelve game turns? Will you be a soldier or a colonel by the end of the game?
Good luck, soldier!
