1812 - Napoleon's Fateful March

Description

Replay the epic Russian campaign of 1812 with a hidden-order system.

1812: Most of Europe is under the control of Napoleon, who is preparing to invade Russia to force them to comply with his Continental Blockade and block British trade. Faced with an overwhelming force, the Tsar reluctantly decided to retreat and adopt a scorched-earth strategy.

Faced with an elusive enemy, the French were forced to advance ever further into Russia, all the way to Moscow, despite the collapse of their logistical system under pressure.

The famous and disastrous retreat from Moscow marked the climax of the campaign and the turning point in the Napoleonic Wars. Would Napoleon and the previously undefeated Grande Armée crush the Russian army and capture Moscow, or would they be punished for their hubris in the vast expanses of Russia?

1812 - Napoleon's Fateful March uses an easy-to-play card-governed system with secret order placement that ensures constant tension and little or no downtime. In keeping with the historical campaign, the game emphasizes logistical planning and march attrition with a set of simple but highly narrative mechanics.

Game scale:
  •     Game turn: 1 month
  •     Map scale: Point-to-point, approx. 70 km between points
  •     Units: Divisions
