A single-player game about the joy of believing you're alone in the woods, and the terror of discovering you're not.

In the story you create, your character runs for his life in an unforgiving environment while fleeing an unknown presence. You, the player, roll dice to determine whether your character succeeds in overcoming the obstacles that lie ahead. Along the way, you'll record his thoughts and fears, using varying degrees of prose. Depending on the result of the dice, your character will live or die; emerge sane or forever scarred by the encounter.

What you need

To play Wendigo, you'll need the following elements, in analog or digital form:

  • An active imagination, a desire to be creative and at least a little scared, and a place where you can concentrate.
  • A journal, blank paper and copies of the character sheet at the back of this book.
  • A handful of six-sided dice.
