Can you identify the segments of the Tikis and rekindle the mystical connections?
To venerate Takaro, protector god of Motu Kemu, the island's greatest artists have erected Tikis, monumental sculptures in painted wood made up of 4 superimposed segments.
Symbolizing the natural elements: wind, ocean, fire and jungle, Takaro, who is all about spirituality, was flattered by these physical representations of his body.
To thank the islanders, he linked the Tatoos engraved on their skin to the Tikis of the tribes, so that the Tatoos resonated with the Tikis to amplify their mystical connection with his spirit.
But men aren't perfect and end up irritating even the most benevolent of gods. In his final rage, Takaro threw the Tikis to the ground, dislocating them and scattering them all over the island.
In an attempt to appease Takaro, the inhabitants of Motu Kemu hurriedly gathered up all the segments and raised their precious Tikis to the sky.
In their haste, they inadvertently mixed the segments, cutting themselves off from the direct link to the deity's spirit. Luckily, these unlikely new avatars gave Takaro a good laugh, and his anger eventually subsided.
During the 6 rounds of the game (known as spirit fusion), players place their Moko tokens between two Tikis to identify their similarities or differences in shape (and only shape, not color!).
In doing so, they earn Tatoos.
At the end of the game, the player with the most Tatoos of the same animal revives the corresponding mystical connection. The player who has re-established the most connections wins the game.
