‘In Rushmore, the players take on the roles of members of a family of gravediggers - amoral and crazy rednecks - living in the middle of nowhere in Texas, whose matriarch - a delusional witch - has just passed away. The madwoman leaves behind her a telepathic foetus and a series of orders in the form of cryptic post-it notes. To honour their mother's memory and make sense of their inheritance, they must respect her last wishes...’
Rushmore is weird and contemporary, fantasy on the edge of reality with supernatural and outrageous elements. It is the chronicle of the life of a dysfunctional family, of Sunday gravediggers, of losers with a bad attitude. It has a quirky atmosphere, with moments that are as realistic as they are frightening and others that are as ridiculous as they are grotesque and excessive.
Rushmore is about blood, chewing gum and phlegm: a sunny, rural, rustic and cruel setting.
This work is part of the Shooter collection:
it is a game proposal in the form of a piece of context where the Player Characters are central - important and/or with a ‘universe’ revolving around them - and which could not (or very difficultly) be described in a larger format without becoming bland. The angle of play is marked, the characters are special or in an atypical situation, the format is concentrated (52 A5 pages).
The whole thing can be picked apart, developed or played as is, depending on your desires or possibilities.
