In Outer Space, the players take on the role of humans abducted by mysterious aliens, who have become astronauts, alone and lost in space, teleported from planet to planet, the last hope to save the universe from the Menace destroying all the galaxies.
Outer Space is ‘Iron Age’ science fiction - science fiction with very alien aliens, a universe in decline, with no human beings other than the characters and no possibility of returning to Earth. Outer Space is the retro and colourful clichés of the Golden Age of SF* - jet pack, laser gun, aliens and giant robots - seen through a more serious, darker and human-scale prism - that is, on the scale of a grain of sand in the universe which, in the right place, at the right time, can completely jam the machine, the Menace.
This work is part of the Shooter collection:
it is a game proposal in the form of a piece of context where the Player Characters are central - important and/or with a ‘universe’ revolving around them - and which could not (or very difficultly) be described in a larger format without fading. The angle of play is defined, the characters are special or in an unusual situation, the format is concentrated (40 A5 pages).
The whole thing can be picked apart, developed or played as it is, according to your desires or possibilities.
42-page book in PDF version.
