Sagas of The Icelanders

Sagas of the Icelanders invites you to put you in the Icelandic settlers of the 9th century. Not immediately imagine Vikings looters, but rather simple people who have come to a poor land with the promise of freedom. More chef, more king, not yet Christian priests to dictate driving: life in community becomes mainly governed by honor, and an uncomfortable family has no place in society. The game also recognizes mechanically the difference between the genres in the Icelandic sagas of which it is inspired directly: the man is a leading actor, constrained by an informal code of honor and the imperatives of virility but the woman is the one who pushes him to the action by his advice, his threats or charms. Therefore, the life of everyday life becomes a constant struggle between the practical needs, the honorable aspirations, the inaccessible desires, the family ties, the obligations of revenge and the destiny woven by the Nornes.
