Dreamraiders, a dreamlike role-playing game
Dreamraiders is a role-playing game in which characters embark on a journey through the world of dreams. Since a global phenomenon unified the psyche of everyone on the planet, certain individuals have been able to alter reality to the point of danger: their fears, desires and traumas create aggressive and supernatural distortions in the real world. The Dreamraiders connect to the Yggdrasil device to enter the minds of these individuals and attempt to ‘deactivate’ them from the dream world. These same Dreamraiders are people who previously possessed this ability to alter the real world, known as the Messiah Complex, and who were also deactivated by other Dreamraiders.
Dreamraiders allows players to explore the premise of having to protect the reality of other Messiahs who could endanger the world as we know it. It also offers another exciting perspective: reality is a lie. With this in mind, the characters discover that the real world is just an illusion created by multiform entities called the Obscurs. The Obscurs steal the identities of heroes and villains, relegating them to a life of routine and boredom, implanting false memories and forcing them to believe that their reality is the only one that exists. In this environment, the characters are ‘Dreamriders’ who take advantage of a breach in the Obscurs' illusion to fight them, recover the memories that have been stolen from them and thus return to their original world.
A role-playing game with two sides
The game's layout gradually introduces players to the complex world of dreams and allows them to discover the universe of Dreamraiders in detail. Whether you decide to play as the Dream Raiders or the Dreamriders, this game draws its inspiration from works such as Inception, The Matrix, Virtual Reality and Doctor Who, among many others that explore the world of dreams and multiple realities.
Dream Raiders therefore offers two role-playing games that can be played separately or in crossover mode!
But that's not all... You can either play in ‘classic’ mode, with a Game Master and players, or in ‘Sit & Play’ mode, a fast-paced and highly narrative game mode where each player takes turns as Game Master! In addition, within each game mode, several group management options are available...
