Better known in France as billard holandais, sjoelback is a traditional game of skill from the Netherlands, where it enjoys great popularity. Each player tries to achieve the best score by throwing all the pucks 3 times.
First throw: the 30 pucks are drawn one after the other, without removing those that don't fit into the pockets. The pucks that do fit are then pushed back into the pockets, while the others are picked up again.
Second throw: the pucks in hand are thrown again, as in the first series.
Third throw: same procedure as for series 2. After the last pucks have been thrown, the score is tallied. Pucks that have not entered completely after the third series obviously don't count towards the score.
If you place a puck in each pocket, this is called a series and earns you 20 points. A puck is worth the number of points indicated at the entrance to the pocket in which it is placed.
