By transposing one of GMT's most popular systems into a simpler format and more accessible setting, A Gest of Robin Hood 2nd Printing is perfect for wargaming novices. At the same time, it offers a tight challenge for more experienced wargamers who can enjoy a tense asymmetrical duel in less than an hour. Highlights: An ideal gateway to the COIN system and the ICS series: a two-player game of relatively low complexity with a family theme, which can be played in an hour and introduces all the key concepts of the COIN system.

A new hidden movement mechanism: The Sheriff will chase Robin Hood across Nottinghamshire to prevent him from organizing peasant revolts, but Robin can escape and hide among his Merry Men. A second new hidden movement mechanism: Carriages introduce a simple variant of Lines of Communication, transferring wealth to Nottingham while providing a target for the Merry Men to rob - but some could be traps, containing hidden henchmen!

Random encounters with wealthy travelers: Robin Hood draws from the Travelers Deck during a robbery action, then decides whether to play it safe or demand a larger “donation” with potentially negative consequences. A simplified sequence of play: Further developing the two-player sequence of play introduced in “Colonial Twilight”, this new sequence of play is easy to understand while presenting difficult tactical decisions.
