Sekigahara traces the campaign that led to the establishment of the Tokugawa Shogunate in 1600.

One player takes on the role of Tokugawa Ieyasu, Japan's most powerful daimyo, the other Ishida Mitsunari, champion of the warlord's heir. Each leader gathered a coalition of daimyo and fought for 7 weeks to gain control of Japan. The victory of this war was played out at a crossroads called Sekigahara, where disloyalty and treachery tipped the course of the battle, initially dominated by Ishida, in favor of Tokugawa.
