Political conflict is played with coins! Domination is a fast-paced game of majorities, where the outcome is always uncertain until the very end. It offers many possible scenarios.

Control of the most important provinces is the key to ultimate victory. You'll need to rally as many territories as possible to your cause, either by devising a rigorous strategy or by trying to outwit your opponents. But if things go wrong, you can always switch sides!

Set in Roman provinces, Celtic tribes, medieval Italy, the territories of the Inca Empire, the Ottoman court or pre-industrial England, Dominance is a game of majorities whose outcome is always uncertain.

Three factions claim domination of a given territory.

Each faction is represented by a metal coin which, when placed on a territory, indicates its allocation. The game is played on a variable board, constructed from hexagons. When the board is set up, each territory is assigned to a faction.

Each player represents a Roman consul, a Celtic chief, a medieval lord, an Inca general, an Ottoman nobleman or the head of an English noble family. The object of the game is to side with the winning faction.

On his turn, a player can perform two actions of his choice: open a challenge, reinforce, move, gain power or place himself. Opening a challenge ends the turn in all cases, and works as follows: each player secretly bets a certain number of coins, even zero. The coins are revealed, and the faction with the most coins, both in territory and in wagers, wins the game. The territory is definitively assigned to this faction.

The faction leader who led the faction to victory and the player who wagered the most coins of that color receive booty: new coins and the chance to build on the territory or in adjacent territories.

Buildings (villages, towns, bridges and the capital) increase the value of the territory.
  •     Reinforce: adds a piece from the game reserve to a territory that already has one (of the same color).
  •     Move: move pieces from one territory to an adjacent territory.
  •     Gain power: draws the first piece from the piece display. Place: allows you to place your own piece in a territory.
Each player's coin reserve is kept secret. When all but one territory has been allocated, the game ends. Each territory is worth 1 to 5 points, depending on the buildings present. The faction with the most points wins. The player with the most pieces of that faction wins!
