In this family adventure game, each player's objective is to circumnavigate the globe and finish before the other players in a maximum of 72 days, just like Nellie Bly. Each player must pass through each of the cities she travelled through before returning to her starting point in New York, within the allotted time. The 72 days are represented by the 72 “Event” cards, so one player must reach New York before the stack of cards is exhausted, or all players lose the game.
Don't know Nellie Bly? Her real name was Elisabeth Jane Cochrane, and she was born in Pennsylvania in 1864. At the age of 16, she managed to get a job as a journalist, and did her first story in a canning factory. Thanks to her determination to uncover the truth, she quickly became an outstanding investigative journalist. She even managed to infiltrate a psychiatric asylum by posing as a madwoman, and then denounced the horrific conditions of the patients in an article that caused a scandal. And at the age of 25, inspired by Jules Verne's novel, she embarked on a round-the-world voyage which she completed in just 72 days.
