During the industrialization of the 19th Century the most diverse trade and industrial businesses were located at this important canal. Additionally, new connections via roads and rail tracks were established.

In Kanal you plan and build new industrial areas. Even though your plans are vague at the beginning, you raise structures and shape the infrastructure. You raise paths, build roads and lay rail tracks. You also gradually excavate parts of the canal and, importantly, build bridges to connect the structures.
This is all done using several actions. Taking them at the right time will be crucial. At the end of the game you add up the prestige points of your structures, routes, thalers and remaining materials together with the prestige points earned during the game to determine who built the best industrial area. Kanal also includes a solo game!
