"We thought we were safe. There was only one cruiser, we thought we'd scared off the other 'sultanas'. Good job, job done, back home for tea and cookies. I remember telling Jonesy that it was an easy patrol. That's when I saw it over his shoulder, like a giant mirror with a light frame, a little off the port bow. It was huge, the size of a house. The problem was, it wasn't a mirror of us; we could see another ship on the other side. One of theirs. In no time, shots were fired. Like a hole in the wall, but connecting houses on different streets. I still can't figure it out. I don't know how I did it. Neither does Jonesy. If you see one of these portals, move".
Able Seaman Jack Davies, formerly of HMS Gladstone
The cruiser Lesanth Exemplar is often admired by the Sultanate's enemies, and rightly so. It contains technical feats that could be considered magical by those who have never witnessed them. The luminous rays of the Spears of Judgment make the Particle Beams pale in comparison. The portals that allow other ships to fire without exposing themselves to enemy fire. Not to mention the expressionless steel faces of the Cor Coroli who act as marines. Woe betide anyone who thinks they stand a chance against this ship of the Order.
The Carolus destroyers are indeed formidable. Fully armed by devout members of the religious martial group known as the Order, they answer only to Sircan Osman on behalf of the Sultan.
