Penny Dreadfuls were short, illustrated periodicals, very popular in the UK in the second half of the 19th century.
Despite their low cultural value, Penny Dreadfuls gave birth to a genre that has continued to evolve to the present day.

In Penny Dreadfuls of Victorian London each sensational tale features specific characters living in an ordinary Victorian world, who are suddenly embroiled in shocking events, catapulting them out of reality and natural conventions.

Joining them, players face a bizarre scenario, investigating, making deductions and choices, facing trials leading to unpleasant consequences or handsome rewards.

    Ce jeu, je le trouve plutôt joli, le matériel est de qualité, les rangements bien conçus (ce n'est pas une "boîte à chaussures"). MAIS, après bien des efforts, je n'y comprends décidément rien! J'ai pourtant déjà joué à plusieurs jeux variés dits "experts", mais là impossible pour moi de saisir les règles. Je le donnerai à la ludothèque de ma ville pour qu'il ait peut-être une deuxième vie.
