The comic book on which it's based is sometimes jokingly described as a "gothic Jumanji". DIE: The Roleplaying Game is designed from the outset to allow a group of players to create their own version of the comic.

DIE begins on Earth, when players create imperfect, unique Personas in the real world who come together to role-play. These obsessions are exploited and externalized during their involuntary adventure into the world of DIE. They don't just go to an imaginary world - they go to their imaginary world, turning their shame and frustration against themselves.

What do you do when the dragon speaks to you in the voice of your long-dead, angry father?
