This pack represents 2 individuals of the Polish Armia Krajowa (Home Army) during the Warsaw Uprising, although the figures can also be used as a generic war-correspondent or medic. Or even as civilians. A brief summary of their story can be found below:

Danuta Motas, Partizan Medic, single piece miniature:

This is a very special character piece. Our friend and painter, Peter Motas’ grandmother served as a medic in the Home Army at the age of 18. We planned to produce a female medic as homage to female service in the home army but when Peter told us this we decided to base it off of photographs off of Danuta. She survived the uprising; despite a room she was in being hit by a tank’s shell. This tank is believed to have been a Tiger tank. Luckily for Danuta, a door crashed into her, absorbing most of the shock but leaving her very injured. She would eventually spend the remainder of the war in a work camp, wearing a “P” for Polish. We used images of Polish medics for inspiration of attire.

Eugeniusz Lokajski, Partizan Photographer, Athlete and AK Lieutenant, two piece figure with additional kitten:

A 28mm representation of Eugeniusz Lokajski. A Polish athlete and gymnast, who was also champion of the javelin. Successful in hurdling, long jump, high jump and decathlon: his javelin record would not be broken for 17 years. Conscripted into the Polish Army for the Polish Defensive War of 1939, Lokajski served as a platoon commander in the Polish 35th Infantry Regiment. After the Battle of Brześć he was taken prisoner of war by the Soviets, but managed to escape to Warsaw, which most probably saved him from the fate of other Polish officers, murdered by the Soviets in the Katyn Massacre. In Warsaw he reunited with his family and opened a photographic shop. At the same time he served as a teacher in one of the underground universities operating secretly in Warsaw. After his brother was killed he took over his duties in the AK. He would sadly lose his life in the uprising. His sister published a book of over 1000 images taken by him during the war. We used many of these images for inspiration, and created this model as a homage to Eugeniusz and other photographers of the AK. We have modeled him with the Leica Standard, as it is known he used one prior to the war and was given one by a fellow officer in the AK. We have modeled a cat as an optional extra based on an iconic image of this Polish hero.

Supplied without bases. Metal Models have a cast puddle base.

This two figure set requires some clean up and assembly, as white metal some weapons may require straightening. We recommend our range for skilled modellers over the age of 14. Figures should be washed, polished and then primed with a high quality primer. Cast in the UK by Griffin Moulds JJP for Infamous JT. Traditionally sculpted by Dennis Zarnowski.
