In Nova Era, players lead their civilization, from humble tribal beginnings to vast scientific empires, as they navigate the twists and turns of history. Harness the power of technology, expand your territories and engage famous (and sometimes infamous) figures from history.

Civilizations are constantly threatened by rival nations, natural disasters, social unrest and the possibility of a dark age.

The aim of Nova Era is to build the greatest civilization. To achieve this, players strategically select the most advantageous technologies, territories and personalities on the board and evolve them as they move through the annals of time. Players score points by having a variety and/or a majority of different types of technology, as well as by fulfilling various card objectives.

The game consists of drawing and spending dice, with different types of dice providing different resources, bonuses and penalties to players.

Dice unused by players fill the Natural Disaster and Dark Age progress bars, affecting all players at the table. Once all dice actions have been completed, an era ends and a new one begins.
