In early 1862, a little-known general named U.S. Grant led the Union offensive in western Tennessee. After capturing two river forts and the largest number of prisoners ever taken by an American army up to that time, Grant launched a daring advance up the Tennessee River, while supporting armies advanced up the Mississippi and across Tennessee. However, the Confederate army under A.S. Johnston fought back fiercely, staking everything on a furious battle in the woods around Shiloh Church.
“Find out where your enemy is. Attack him as soon as you can. Hit him as hard as you can, as many times as you can, and keep moving.” - U.S. Grant

In this game, you take control of the entire Tennessee campaign. As a Union player, you must coordinate three armies, using land and naval forces to advance along the great rivers, reach strategic objectives such as Nashville and Corinth, and capture the fortress of Island Number Ten to open up the Mississippi River. As a Confederate player, your mission is to block the Unio's offensives.River movements and battles are as crucial as land actions, giving this campaign a unique atmosphere in the history of the American Civil War.
