In June 1944, the Red Army launched a massive offensive known as Operation Bagration. Designed to expel the Hitlerite hordes that had invaded Mother Russia three years earlier, this attack marked the beginning of a series of victorious offensives that would only end with the capture of Berlin less than a year later.
Defiant Russia: Red Victory uses the Defiant Russia Players' Edition map and pieces from the old Red Vengeance game, plus 40 new pieces to recreate this campaign on your game board.
The game system is the same as Defiant Russia, with some minor modifications to reflect the changed situation.
The game plays quickly.
The Red Army's objectives are simple: advance until the fall of Berlin.
The Axis members play a more complicated game, holding off the Soviets, counterattacking judiciously, and trying to keep Germany's allies from crossing over.
Red Victory includes full-color game aids, like those in the Defiant Russia player's edition, including scenarios. The 180 pieces mostly represent armies for the Soviets and corps for the Germans. Yugoslav partisans, Romanians, Bulgarians and Hungarians are also included.
