In the far far north, in the land of dark days and white nights, flows the river Mezen.
Mezen is a game of pattern-matching where the scoring objective changes every round. Each player will have a 5×5 grid of animal tiles, white on one side and black on the other.
Each round, the active player selects one of the animals on the tiles, and ALL players choose a group of one or more tiles with that animal to remove from their grid and flip over. Then they will slide the tiles above the open spaces down, and place the newly flipped tiles back in the open spaces at the top. Then everyone will score the current round’s scoring objective.
Now the Active Player Reindeer passes to the next player clockwise, and the next round’s scoring objective is revealed (the next two rounds of scoring objectives are always shown).
After the 5th round’s objective is scored, players will gain one point per black tile showing on their board. After the 10th (final) round’s objective is scored, players will gain one point per white tile.
The player with the highest score wins!
