Originally intended as an air-transportable gun tractor to support airborne operations, the Sd.Kfz 2 Kettenkrad tracked motorcycle made its operational debut during Operation Mercury, the invasion of Crete in 1941.
The Kettenkrad was widely used by all branches of the Wehrmacht and in all theaters where German forces fought. More than 8,000 Kettenkrad were produced during World War II, serving as gun trailers, supply vehicles and cable-layers. After the war, another 550 Kettenkrad were produced for agricultural use.
Contains a metal vehicle and crew, with damage markers and a statistics card.
