Nine options to change up the Viking invasion.

878 Vikings is an area control game in which 2 to 4 players play as invading Vikings or English nobles trying to resist the invasion.

Viking players control the Northmen, Viking freemen and Viking shock troops known as Berserkers. The English control the King's Housecarls and the Thegn nobles who own land.

Players on each side work together to coordinate their strategies. The English start the game controlling all of England, but the Viking players invade from the sea to strike at the heart of English territory! Players decide when they want to initiate the endgame, using the Treaty of Wedmore. The team that controls the most cities at the end of that turn wins the game.

The "Age of the Vikings" expansion adds several new scenarios, game components, and victory conditions to the 878 Vikings game, such as Christian churches, pagan relics, Viking settlements, holy places, and much more!
