Siege of Khartoum is a two-player game about the famous siege of Khartoum by the Madhists besieging the British entrenched in the city.
Sudan, 1884-1885. The Mahdist revolt proved to be a resounding success and their wave of conquests isolated the important city of Khartoum. The British sent General George "Chinaman" Gordon to organize an evacuation. Gordon defied the British government and organized a defense until the British sent a relief force. The Mahdists must capture Khartoum before the relief force arrives and destroy Gordon's legend.
Siege of Khartoum lasts approximately 90 minutes. One side commands the Mahdist units and the other side commands the Egyptian and British units.
The maps allow for variety in the game. The goal of the game for the Mahdist player is to capture Khartoum while the Egyptian player tries to hold out until British reinforcements arrive.
The Siege of Khartoum uses a game system based on The Historical Game Company's "Battle of Quebec" wargame.
The game contains 48 5/8" counters, 20 cards, one game card and two dice.
