INSERT3D

INSERT3D is a human-sized company located in the Dijon region.

A 3D printing enthusiast and true inventor by profession, I started customizing board games nearly 10 years ago. In an effort to replace plastic with a more noble material, wood, I acquired a laser-cutting machine.

So I started working with MDF-type "wood", like most of the game inserts on the market. I then realized how toxic this material, half of which is glue, was (sticky residues in the cutting machine, highly irritating fumes). I decided to go for plywood, which is more expensive, but closer to what you'd call wood. While it looks more natural, it's more difficult to work with, with its fibers and knots. But because it's wood, it can be stained, opening up new possibilities.

On the strength of this experience, I wanted to provide board game enthusiasts with the kind of quality products I would have liked to find on the market. So I set up INSERT3D to make 3D-printed inserts and objects.
